About Us
Welcome to QGaming!QGaming is a non-profit Gaming Community that run regular competitive lans in the Brisbane / Gold Coast area of Queensland, Australia.
We opened our doors for our first lan in July 2006 and are getting stronger with every lan. QGaming has several years experience in running tournaments of various sizes in both "Bring Your Own Computer" (BYOC) events and LAN cafes.
QGaming evolved from QLDCSS which was established in 2006 by a group of volunteers dedicated to the CounterStrike:Source community. Since then, the team has coordinated in excess of 30 tournaments throughout South East Queensland. This respected team has also been requested to provide competition administration for several large scale gaming events, including the GenCon Gaming Convention that attracted in excess of 10,000 gamers.
During 2008 QGaming expanded to run competitions in Call of Duty (COD) as well. Similarly to QLDCSS, The COD Admin Team was born as a result of a group of volunteers based in Brisbane focused on promoting the competitive nature of COD.
To ensure we have the best possible competitions we focus on the CSS competition administration rather than setting up the tables, chairs and network for the LAN event. In other words we hold our events with existing lan groups. This boosts their much needed numbers and gives us a place to enjoy our competitions.
For example in our early years we played our BYOC events with GameServe on the Gold Coast (www.gameserve.com.au) and more recently joined up with the great guys at LanSmash (www.lansmash.com) who hold regular events in Brisbane.
We also hold netcafe events in Brisbane every few months which gives people the opportunity to play on a more even playing field. Everyone uses similar spec PC's duking it out for a slice in cash prizes and the right to claim superiority of the event.
As we are a not-for-profit organisation all proceeds from our events are invested straight back into improving our community. With several lans now up our sleeve we are continually growing in size and new people are joining in every LAN. So dont be afraid, everyone is more than welcome to come along and enjoy our events. Its great to see new faces and it makes our events much more enjoyable.
Our community is growing bigger and better every day and we look forward to your continued support!
